LOS ANGELES — Abell
Auction Company will conduct
a fine art, antiques,
Twentieth Century design
and jewelry auction on Sunday,
May 19. Live bidding
begins at 10 am PST online
and at the gallery.
The sale features property
from prominent Southern California
estates, and will be
headlined by an Abraham
Lincoln campaign flag. This
iconic piece of American history
was used by Abraham
Lincoln and his running mate,
Hannibal Hamlin, in their victorious
1860 election, and
includes one of the few portraits
of Lincoln before he
became president.
From a prominent Ranch
Santa Fe, Calif., estate, Abell
will be offering a Regencystyle
gilt-bronze mounted
kingwood bureau plat, and an
Erard Louis XV-style giltbronze
mounted marquetry
grand piano, both signed F.
Linke. These items were originally
purchased in November
1969 at the cataloged auction
conducted by Abell at the
Hancock Park, Calif., mansion
of Mrs Jean Hardison Owings.
